NBA Standings 2023 NBA Standings Predictions
NBA Standings 2023 NBA Standings Predictions, The NBA Standings 2023 are the official standings for the current season of the National Basketball Association. Teams with the best records in each conference are eligible for the NBA playoffs.
The Boston Celtics and Denver Nuggets lead the way in both conferences. With their respective leagues in playoff contention. They look to be among the top contenders for the title next year.
The Race for the Playoffs is Tight
With just a few weeks left in the NBA season, the race for the playoffs is heating up. The top teams in each conference are battling for the automatic postseason spots. And there are still several teams in the Western Conference that could make a run at the playoffs.
In the Eastern Conference, there are a few teams that are in the hunt for a top seed. The Knicks have been hot since they added Josh Hart at the trade deadline and are looking to keep their streak alive. While Orlando has a good young team that can make some noise in the tournament.
The Grizzlies, Suns, Mavericks, and Los Angeles Lakers are all battling to find consistency. On both ends of the court in the Western Conference and it’s unclear how healthy they’ll be in the final few weeks. The Denver Nuggets top the conference and boast a star in Nikola Jokic, one of the game’s most skilled centers.
The Race for the Top Spot in the East is Tight
The race for the top spot in the East is tight and it is one of the most intriguing races to watch this season. The Boston Celtics are holding on to the top spot with the Brooklyn Nets. And Milwaukee Bucks are within striking distance.
Giannis Antetokounmpo is on a tear and looks like he might have a chance to win the MVP. He’s averaging a team-high 37 points per game in February, and he has scored at least 30 in each of his past three games.
Meanwhile, Joel Embiid is putting up huge numbers. And has re-asserted himself among the top players in the NBA. His efficiency has been questioned at times. But he’s still on fire and should be considered an MVP candidate by many voters.
The Knicks have been hot of late and they should overtake the Nets in our Power Rankings very soon. They’ve won five straight and they should continue to get better as the season goes on.
The Race for the Top Spot in the West is Tight
The race for the top spot in the West is a tight one, especially when we look at point differential. As the table below shows, the Lakers lead Denver by less than four games. While Memphis and Portland sit just a half-game behind in third place.
The Jazz stumbled into fourth place after trading Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert. But they are back on the rise. They have won eight straight games and look good with Lauri Markkanen leading the way.
Despite missing Stephen Curry. The Warriors still hold a lead over the Blazers and Trail Blazers. But they have lost six of their last eight games and are in danger of falling further down the West standings.
Fortunately, the play-in tournament is in place to give more teams a chance to make the playoffs. That means more parity in the NBA standings in 2023. With the Lakers chasing a top-six seed and a host of other Western Conference teams fighting for position. The playoff race is one of the most interesting in recent memory.
The Race for the Final Playoff Spot in the East is Tight
The race for the final playoff spot in the East is tight as both teams have a shot at winning at least six games. Boston (43-17) and Milwaukee (41-44) remain loaded with talent. Philadelphia is also a team to watch in the final few weeks of the season.
The battle for the top spot in the East is especially interesting. As both the Bucks and Celtics have a strong chance of finishing first in the standings. Both are improving offensively and could be a threat to winning the conference.
Both teams are improving defensively, and both should be able to string wins together. The Bucks have been particularly tough on the defensive side of the ball over the past month. Winning 12 consecutive games heading into the All-Star break.
There’s no doubt that the battle for the final play-in berth is going to be a jumbled mess as teams try to climb into position. That said, a handful of teams can’t afford to lose any more games, mainly the Pacers and Magic.
